We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer Aero Engines to join our team.

You will be primarily responsible for the support and development of the conversion of an existing kerosene aeroengine into a hydrogen aeroengine.

Therefore, you should be able to master the current aeroengine performance, systems and equipment, and together with the team, to propose and master the changes for achieving so.

Tasks

  • Based on the existing engine design and the overall performance, to study, analyze and propose the modifications for converting the engine to a full LH2 aeroengine.
  • In depth knowledge and working experience with solutions, best Practices & Process of Air breathing engine and design tools.
  • Define the suitable technical modifications to materials and the design of the vanes/blades, shaft, and bearings, bearing housing and relevant mating parts due to the LH2 conversion
  • Set up test campaigns to validate the models
  • Assist the engineering team in performing a makeorbuy analysis
  • Follow the production, assembly, integration and test plans
  • Exchange continuously with other teams (engineering, quality assurance, manufacturing, procurement, and test) inside and outside of the company to keep the production progressing.
  • Involvement into the propulsion research and development
  • Thorough understanding of the full product and product development life cycle, Engineering knowledge and able to perform early hand calculations to ensure design solution is feasible
  • Work with Systems Engineers to ensure all system requirements are met

Requirements:


  • M.Sc. or M.Eng. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering,
  • Strong background in fluids, gas dynamics, thermomechanics, Cooling schemes and structures
  • Deep knowledge of Materials, Heat and surface treatments, manufacturing processes and methods, assembly and testing of aeroengine/rocket equipment
  • Experience in mechanical design, assembly production and process control,
  • Experience in aeroengine design modifications of aeroengine or components. Experience in Air breathing engine technology
  • Workexperience with CAD Software,
  • 5+ years of industry experience working on combustion devices (injectors, chambers, igniters, and related components),
  • Fluent in English as Working Language
  • Desired skills
  • Proficiency in Siemens tool suite: Star-CCM, NX, PLM, and TeamCenter,
  • Awareness of aerospace standards and Materials
  • Experience in areas like Hydrogen, Aero engines, Industrial gas Turbines
