About the Role
In this role you will work closely with the Spanish team in respect of clients and brokers.

Your key responsibilities:

Extend & consolidate our footprint as a recognized insurance partner by assessing, proposing and negotiating the insurance conditions for all kind of large and midsize projects but mainly focus on Renewables Energy as well as operational property and business interruption coverages on renewable risks.
Assess risks, coverage, terms and conditions. Drive the related underwriting processes and assure an appropriate risk management when in a lead position. Triages new submissions quickly and optimally.
As a member of the global Engineering and Construction community act as a point of reference on technical issues in the region and keep track on new technologies and market trends.
Contribute in the development of marketing strategies for the region and represent Corporate Solutions in meetings with brokers and clients, reporting your progress regularly to the Head P&S Spain and the Head of Engineering & Construction for the EMEA region.
Support the growth of associated lines of business by actively crossselling the capabilities of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions and contribute to the development of solutions that are tailored to our clients' needs.

Come and join the team of 6 P&S UW based in Madrid. We work in a friendly and professional environment of trust and teamwork. We interact with our clients/brokers directly, lead the negotiation and develop strong relationships. In our team, you will be close to the decision makers.

About You

If you are a self-starter with the drive to take the initiative and tackle targets in a goal-oriented manner, then we are looking for YOU Moreover, you feel fully at home in the cultural and business environment in Spain & Portugal countries and ideally other European markets and can fall back on 3-5 years of experience in engineering underwriting.

Your sales and negotiation skills coupled with your cultural sensitivity and in-depth sector familiarity will form the basis for your success in establishing new contacts and originating new business.

Essentials:

University degree in Engineering
Minimum of three years engineering & construction underwriting experience with a primary insurance in the Spanish market and with practical knowledge in renewable energy and handling International Business.
Previous experience as a professional engineer in the industry, ideally including managerial roles and with sound experience as a project engineer or on site supervision including testing/commissioning responsibilities of large renewable projects
Strong team player, business sense, entrepreneurial mindset
Strong broker and client network
Ability to manage a high work load and being stressresilient
Availability for travel
Proficiency in written and spoken Spanish and English
