Job Description Summary:

Reporting to the plant Quality Manager, the Quality Control (QC) Engineer is in charge of the control of incoming materials and manufactured products meet the requirements defined in the quality specifications.

The QC Engineer is responsible of all processes related to the QC laboratories.

Job Summary


Reporting to the plant Quality Manager, the Quality Control (QC) Engineer is in charge of the control of incoming materials and manufactured products meet the requirements defined in the quality specifications.

The QC Engineer is responsible of all processes related to the QC laboratories.


Responsibilities:


  • Main Tasks
Laboratories activities

  • Implement and define laboratory activities:
  • Design the structure and the flows of the laboratory following the 5S's principles
  • Implement documents related to laboratories
  • Define and manage sample collection
  • Manage Quality Control data, metrics and trends
  • Manage the stocks of consumables
  • Manage the nonconformance related to laboratories
  • Manage and execute rootcause analysis and problem resolution
  • Prepare and deploy training material
  • Participate in internal and external audits
  • Manage the installation and validation of laboratory equipments by:
  • Creating/updating of the associated documents
  • Ensuring the maintenance and the calibration of laboratory equipments
  • Responsible to conduct Quality control activities on incoming materials and manufactured products in order to ensure the compliance to specification, including the review of generated results / documentation
  • Ensure that QC activities are developed following the processes, specifications, regulatory requirement and Corporate needs
Laboratories documentation management

  • Ensure that safety standards and environmental policies are applied in the laboratories (equipment, staff, products...)
  • Ensure that the quality policy is applied in the laboratories
Training

  • Develop training activities related to his / her area
  • Ensure the training of people involved in laboratories activities
Other Quality processes

  • Review and Analyze the Quality indicators related to laboratories and implement preventive and corrective measures if required
  • Ensure the communication of nonconformities to the collaborators involved in the laboratory area
  • Participate in continuous improvement actions to improve the Quality system, using methodologies such as the Kaizen method, 5S, etc
  • Participate in audits (internal, external, suppliers, Corporate, etc...)
QC network

  • Will actively participate as a member of the QC network, as a representative of the plant in the area
  • Participate, support and develop corporate changes / WW
Project Phase

During the ZAR Project phase, the flexibility and assumption of tasks of other specific roles related to the function and the area of knowledge/work will be common, always taking into account the personal skills, knowledge and technical skills for their development

Education and Experience

Academic Background:

  • University Degree in Science and/or Engineering

Valuable complementary training:

  • Master of Science in Materials Science and/or Engineering
  • Understanding of industry regulations / standards: ISO13485, GMP, 21CFR820
  • Training in polymers
  • Metrology
  • Project management
  • Molding knowledge
  • SAP knowledge
  • Statisical analysis tools (Minitab, etc.)
  • Lean management knowledge

Languages:

  • Fluent level of English

Previous Experience:

  • Minimum experience of 5 years in manufacturing industrial environments (molds, assembly, chemical sector, regulated sector, etc.)

Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to influence at all levels.
  • Ability to work using technical working (oral and written).
  • Ability to work with a multitude of actors on site (as a member or leader) and to communicate effectively
  • Demonstrate agility and action orientation when facing change and uncertainty. Effectively manage change.
  • Excellent problem solving, Nonconformance management with tools.
  • Quick learner
  • Sense of responsibility and participation in the actions of the area in the plant.

Work Environment

  • Located in the Zaragoza plant (shift work possible).
  • Availability mainly during the Project phase, traveling to other BD locations.
