We are actively searching for two Structural Engineers to lead and manage marine engineering projects.

As the successful new hire, your position will include management, supervision and training of junior structural engineering staff and will be responsible to lead engineering, planning, design, and analysis activities for waterfront, port and maritime infrastructure projects.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on and lead some very high-profile projects You may be seated in London, Exeter, Farnham or Valencia offices.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Project management and Senior Project Engineer duties
  • Work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Supervise, mentor, and train junior structural staff
  • Actively participate in initiatives to grow the team as required through hiring of interns and junior staff
  • Lead the development of contract documents for various project delivery methods including drawings, specifications, basis of design, technical reports, technical memorandums, cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, project and construction schedules, etc.
  • Lead the development of structural analysis, modeling, capacity calculations and calculation reports
  • Perform periodic site visits and attend client meetings as required
  • Prepare and lead projects pursuits / opportunities including positioning, team building, proposal writing, interviewing and contract negotiation
  • Lead the implementation of quality control and quality assurance on projects
  • Coordinate closely with business managers and technical leaders in the company to advance initiatives
  • Coordinate with coastal, civil, transportation, mechanical, electrical, construction, inspection, permitting/environmental and other disciplines
  • Manage subconsultants and construction services throughout project lifecycles

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering; required
  • Professional registration; preferred
  • 10+ years of related waterfront structural experience in engineering design, project management, and client service; required
  • Proven ability to implement and manage both small and large scale projects
  • Proven success in leading people and managing resources
  • Strong communication (verbal, written and presentation) skills
  • Experience in developing and maintaining client relationships
  • Must be willing and able to travel for projects as needed
  • Successfully complete and pass a preemployment (postoffer) background check in compliance with NIST

Physical requirements:


This position works primarily in an office setting; some client and field visits and occasional travel to other Moffatt & Nichol offices.
