R&D Team Lead

The R&D Team Manager plays an important role, driving and fostering a culture of innovation within the department while assisting the R&D Manager to plan and manage R&D activities and resources. In this position, you will support the development of projects and identify the budget for a specific functional area.
In this role, you will be in charge of R&D Engineers in order to meet the requirements of product development projects.

R&D Department Lead

Your responsibilities

• Serving as a technical resource for internal and external contacts.
• Creating technology roadmaps and providing input regarding technology strategy planning.
• Planning and ensuring an optimal project portfolio for the team, and overseeing efficient project execution.
• Recommending, developing, and improving processes and procedures to enhance local operations.
• Applying appropriate development and quality standards, and monitors local product quality and change requests to identify issues.
• Evaluating local market requirements and innovation, and providing feedback on product, manufacturing and R&D strategies.
• Overseeing and assisting with transfer of technology and knowledge between internal partners.
• Contributing to technical bodies both inside and outside ABB, and promoting ABB's R&D internally and externally.

Your background

• More than 5 years of experience in Automatic Mobile Robots, working as engineer or manager within a product development team.
• Sound knowledge of leadership, innovation, and problem solving for the automation market.
• Knowledge of technical construction files and safety regulations.
• A solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills.
• A engineer in technical field, preferable informatic or automation.
• Fluent in Spanish and English.
• The role and function request to be on site.
