Research contributing in developing new heterogeneous catalysts with controlled morphology and metals thin layers’ deposition.

• Key contributor to the catalysts design, preparation, characterization and the analysis of CO2 conversion to energy.
• Acquired in-depth understanding on heterogeneous catalysis reaction and the effect of morphology on the catalysts activity.
• Acquired a good understanding of the effect of noble and non-noble metal layers deposited on catalysts on the reaction of H2 and CO2
• Participated in the characterization and evaluation of the catalysts using TPO-TPR, Autochem, Micrometrics and Gas Chromatography. 
• Key contributor to the design and development of Cu/TiO2, N/TiO2 NPs and, Cu-TiO2/SiO2 and N-TiO2/SiO2 thin films.
• Successfully Optimized amount of added dopants in order to improve the photocatalytic response toward the destruction of the organic and air pollutants.
• Measured the textural properties, such as roughness, surface area, and hydrodynamic diameter, as well as the surface chemical nature of the materials.
• Acquisition of an in-depth knowledge of the mechanism of photocatalysis and the influence of dopants on this process.
•  Gained an in-depth understanding of the optimization of thin films as well as their structural and mechanical properties.

Synthesis of core-shell metals nanocomposites and their application as thin films on silicon wafers for self-cleaning. 

• Successfully designed new method for the synthesis of the metallic copper nanoparticles and copper-titania core-shell composites
• I obtained highly photoactive thin films deposited by the dip-coating technique on silicon wafers for contaminant decomposition.
• Key contributor to physical-chemical and optical characterization of the developed thin layers and composites.
