Experiencia
I have solid research experience, as I worked as a research assistant at UM's Center for Research in Applied Economics (2015 - 2018) and UW's Education Policy Analytics Lab (2018 - 2019). Moreover, I recently completed my first year of doctoral studies by successfully elaborating and defending my thesis proposal. In my thesis' first chapter, I employ Callaway and Sant-Anna's (2021) Difference-in-Differences approach to study the impact of installing solar panels in unelectrified schools on an extensive collection of students' educational outcomes and their family well-being.
Educación
Regarding my academic formation, I completed undergraduate and graduate studies in Economics at Universidad de Montevideo (UM) and master studies in Public Policy and Economics at the University of Washington (UW). Due to my outstanding performance as a student, I was awarded a research scholarship by the Center for Research in Applied Economics (UM), as well as a prestigious Fulbright Scholarship and a Graduate School Fellowship by the University of Washington.
I was trained in both quantitative and qualitative methods. My formation in quantitative economics includes advanced training in Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Econometrics, and Mathematics. Among others, I received training on time series analysis and applied econometrics through Hamilton's Time Series Analysis and Angrist and Pischke's Mostly Harmless Econometrics. My formation in Public Policy allows me a foundational understanding of policy design, implementation and evaluation, training in applied qualitative methods, and a comprehension of the dynamics of organizations and the politics of policymaking.
