Laura Coelho Farina

With my academic background in Law and Conflict Mediation, one of my strongest characteristics is my affinity for people. I have always worked well when working with, for, and alongside human beings. Communication and listening are my great allies, and I am deeply interested in the constant exchange and flow of ideas and information.

Regarding my personal traits, according to the well-known psychological test 16Personalities, my personality type is Protagonist (ENFJ-A). It is true that I have a natural ability to inspire and motivate, a great capacity to understand others’ emotions and needs, as well as a valuable talent for seeing the big picture and creating innovative, forward-thinking plans.

Additionally, according to the DISC communication styles test, my predominant communication style is "Influence". Indeed, I am fast-paced and outspoken, but also warm and receptive. I must add that am relieved to know I am also effectively organized, which is not typically a common trait among influential people, according to this model.

Professionally, I have nearly 5 years of managerial level experience, having held the role of Content Lead at Trilhante, a then-startup in online legal education, and, years later, Engagement Manager at MMT, a marketing agency and consultancy.

In my experience as Content Lead, I started as an intern and was later hired full-time. I led a team of freelance writers for educational materials, handling everything from talent sourcing and recruitment to onboarding and retention, as well as overseeing the quality of the content produced.

In my experience as Engagement Manager at MMT, I took on the challenge of leading the company’s expansion project from Latin America to Europe. In this role, I managed four teams of marketing specialists who reported directly to me. I oversaw everything from lead targeting and converting (both B2B and B2C) to customer satisfaction, making high-impact decisions alongside the two directors and founders of the company. This was a 100% remote job, except for in-person meetings with leads and clients in Barcelona.

My professional and academic journey is broad and has taught me a lot about myself and what I want for my future. In both roles I held, the strength of my soft skills became evident: motivation, inspiration, communication, team development, innovation, change management, idea generation, delegation, adaptability, collaboration, empathy, active listening, and analytical problem-solving.

All of this led me to the happy decision to study Integrated Human Resources Management.

I am absolutely fascinated with the course and very eager to work directly with top-tier talent. Responsibilities such as talent management, recruitment, training, succession planning, and team engagement/motivation particularly attract me.

Of course, my ambition is to work with and develop an intellectual and professional elite, and I am more than willing to start in junior or intern positions, where I can learn, generate results, grow, and progressively take on greater responsibilities. This is where my focus lies.
