Freelance 3D Environment Artist and Unreal Engine teacher with a background in Architecture and Architectural Visualization. While working as an architect, my strong passion for 3d and videogames naturally led me to specialize in arch-viz and ultimately to real-time and Virtual Reality solutions using Unreal Engine. I have been a gamer since I was a kid and I always dreamt about creating virtual worlds, so I became a self-taught environment artist after learning about game art workflows: modelling high poly and low poly, hard surface and organic modeling, sculpting, UV mapping, texel density, baking textures, lightmapping, etc.
Having graduated from the University of Alcalá de Heanres (Spain) through a professional degree in architecture, I have a strong experience in architecture and space design, rendering, lighting and composition. I have a good sense of realism, proportions and aesthetics which I gained through 9 years of studying architecture and 5 years of working as a professional architect and architectural artist.
Currently, my main area of work is Virtual Production, creating environments of all sorts such architectural, urban, and natural settings for all kinds of audiovisual productions, primarily advertising, in constant collaboration with Hyperbowl Studio, a leading European Virtual Production studio. I also develop interactive VR applications for ArchViz, handling both graphic development and programming using Blueprints. Additionally, I work as teacher of Unreal Engine at The Factory School. But my ultimate career goal is to work withing the game industry, which has always been my dream.
Overall, I consider myself a person with constant creative concerns, always eager to go one step further and keep on improving my skills. I am also a perfectionist: I like well-done and polished work.
I graduated with honours in the Final Degree Project at ETSAG, University of Alcalá de Henares, an academic achievement that allowed me to represent the school and be nominated as a finalist for the "Best International Final Degree Project" award at the ARCHIPRIX 2017 competition, held in Ahmedabad, India, in February 2017.
