Acerca de Jessica Amezcua Chopard:
My name is Jessica Amezcua Chopard. I am a 32-year-old English Primary School Teacher. I am half Spanish and half British. I was brought up in a home where English was the only language spoken and I learnt Spanish at school. Therefore, I am bilingual.
In 2010 I started to form myself to be an English Primary school teacher, since then I have continued to study and work in order gain more knowledge. Currently I am working in a school with students from 3 to 12 years old.
In my daily job I have lots of duties and responsibilities.
I am responsible for the learning acquisition of all the students and for safeguarding the welfare of all of them.
I have to create a collaborative context where the student, the parents and the teacher work together as a team to achieve goals.
I design, develop and deliver the curriculum to the different groups that I teach.
It is my responsibility to develop the teaching materials, plan activities and use different methodologies.
I particularly work using a project-based learning method.
I always consider students’ prior knowledge in order to create the best plan to enhance learning, therefore, promoting good progress and outcome.
I am very motivated and passionate about teaching, I am fully aware that students are not able to learn if I am not enjoying what I am teaching so, I always bear this in mind when I am programing my classes.
I also take part in the playground break time, school dining room and I plan lots of trips and “English speaking days” for my students.
