Acerca de Francesca Sara:
Francesca is a bioinformatician with a unique skill set, combining her knowledge in healthcare, pharmaceutical care, and patient management as a nurse and biomedical science graduate. Her expertise includes RNA-Seq processing, DNA methylation in R, NGS approaches for WGS and genome assembly and annotation, creating scientific reports, presentations, and integration analysis. She conducts computational analysis with a meticulous attention to detail to support research operations, designs computational strategies for biological research, and contributes to biocomputing tool development. Currently she is looking for a suitable position to contribute her knowledge in molecular biology and computer programming as it applies to medicine.
Experiencia
In my previous experience, I have analysed complex genomic datasets generated from primary human liver tissues with different toxicologic impacts using single-cell RNA and microarray analysis. Working closely with the Principal Investigator and collaborators, I have designed, implemented, and tested bioinformatic tools and analysis pipelines to generate biological hypotheses and statistically meaningful data on the mechanistic insights, specifically using WGCNA analysis. I am experienced in writing new code as well as repurposing existing scripts. This also includes the ability to perform a robust quality control and preprocessing of the data statistically on large datasets. The end result of this included the creation of a reference database that stored new biomarkers. Though I do not have formal experience with websites, I have been self-studying and am very interested in having the ability to do so soon.
In addition to my technical expertise, I am skilled in collaborating and communicating with interdisciplinary teams of researchers, including statisticians, biologists, and clinicians and most importantly writing manuscripts, powerpoints and presenting the work. I am passionate about staying up-to-date with the latest tools and analysis methods for new non-conventional genomic data, and I am committed to evaluating their fit and gradually incorporating them into existing analysis pipelines.
