Èric Quintana Aguasca

Baked telecom engineer born in Sabadell on 22/01/1998. Passionate about arts and technology with a special interest in Multimedia engineering and AI. 

Research lover, wishing to create and develop new technology.

I started legally working in my 18s, at Ludojove Margarida Bedós, an association that helps kids and teenagers at social exclusion risk. I have been a robotics and music instructor for some years. 

While completing my bachelor, I have been working at a company, Actualtic, where I developed the first 2 years of my professional career as an engineer. I have worked as a junior project manager helping third part companies to manage their telecom infrastructures. 

After those 2 years, I moved to London to win experience in a fascinating field, innovation. I have done an internship as an AI researcher at King's College of London, developing a joint detector of depression and anxiety directly from speech signals. This project awoke my passion for applying technology over biomedical stuff. 

What will be next in my professional career? 

I completed high school with honours, taking part in projects such as “Bojos per les Noves Tecnologies”. Then, I started Electronical Engineering at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC). I have decided to take the multimedia (audio and image processing) specification, as I'm an art lover since I am a kid. 

I did my best and end up with an Erasmus at Technische Universität Wien (TU Wien), where my life completely changed and I started to take much more care about everything that was happening around me. There I completed my thesis about “Object tracking from detection”, where I started hard learning Deep Learning and pattern classification. 

Finally, in September 2021, I started an MSc in Advanced Telecommunications Technologies (Deep Learning intensification). Here, I have passed with honours various subjects with which I have fallen in love such as Social Networks; Theory and application, Interdisciplinary projects at CERN with ESADE and IED students, and Artificial Intelligence for IoT. 

Finally, I moved to London where I developed also with honours my master's thesis while doing an Internship.
