Courtney Hampton-Thomas

While I may not have multiple years of experience working within the tech sector, I do have years of utilizing the tech of the world and many years of real world working experience. With 10 plus years in nursing, and 2 years of welding/maintenance, I have gained relevant and necessary skills in the work force. From my previous experiences I bring empathy, customer service, attention to detail, the ability and the motivation to work alone or on a team, the drive and discipline necessary to learn quickly, the curiosity needed to foster creativity, and an incredible amount of enthusiasm with me. What I contribute to the team and to any company that I work for at any level is more than code and technological know-how. I bring positivity and boost morale - this can-do-attitude increases productivity and cultivates a healthy work environment for those around me.

I graduated from an intense/intensive six month coding bootcamp that is called Epicode. 12-16 hours a day for those months was all about theory and applying what I have learned. I've worked on teams utilizing AGILE and SCRUM methodologies and I've delivered many solo projects. At the end of the course, I built a full-stack app that I call ReciGuard. It is a modern day recipe book that will store and share your recipes, allows you to alter a recipe that is saved to your favorites without altering the original, allows for meal planning through the use of drag and drop on a calendar, allows for date selection that will create an editable shopping list based on your meal plan for the selected dates, and more.
