AI - NLP - Machine Learning - Data Science

In the early months of my masters, I was able to earn a grant as a researcher in the “Tech Talent Lab” in the department of management at UPC to work on the field of AI. I have worked on designing, developing, evaluating, and optimizing chatbots in human resources processes in organizations (companies & higher education institutes). 

This ongoing project has given me valuable insights into Natural Language Understanding and Data Mining. For instance, I have worked directly on how conversational agents can be improved using text extraction and multi-label text classification, how such technologies can be enhanced using cutting-edge neural networks and deep learning techniques to facilitate and automate processes. Furthermore, my strong background in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL are beneficial to developing machine learning and NLP models for these purposes. 

My professional working experience has imparted a foundation of innovation and critical thinking for an advanced researcher. As a senior engineer in supply chain management for two years, the ERP project at FANAP has allowed me to expand my knowledge in digital transformation. In that time, I gained experience in Test-Driven Design and Continuous Integration using GitHub. I was also responsible for training new employees and leading them to get familiar with the technical aspects of the project.

I have a solid educational foundation in addition to my expertise and personal qualities, a passion for Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing. Currently, I’m writing my master thesis at Polytechnic University of Catalonia·BarcelonaTech in Engineering and Technology management “2020”. By taking “Tools for Decision Making”, “Advanced Project Management” and “Business Analytics” courses, I found involving technology in science is truly attractive and realized that studying in this area would satisfy my concerns. During master's, I have worked on various projects related to the retail industry and implemented machine learning models, RFM, and basket analysis (Namely DAMM distribution dataset). Due to my passion for going deeper in such areas, I chose a project related to ML and NLP as my M.Sc. thesis, entitled: “Study on the use of Chatbots in Human Resources processes”.
