The
IMDEA Software Institute (Madrid Institute for Advanced Studies in Software Development Technologies) is a non-profit research institute promoted by the Regional Government of Madrid, Spain.

The Institute's goal is to perform the research of excellence required to devise methods that enable the cost-effective development of software products with sophisticated functionality and high quality, i.e., secure, reliable, and efficient.


In the same manner that RedIRIS manages the National Network for Universities and Research Centers,
Madrid Research Network (REDIMadrid) is the data network for research and higher education that provides high-speed connectivity to universities and research centers within the Madrid region.


REDIMadrid is funded by the Madrid Regional Government and managed by the
IMDEA Software Institute.

MadQuantum-CM is funded by by MCIN with funding from European Union NextGenerationEU (PRTR-C17.I1) and Madrid regional government.


If you like innovation and creating new solutions to large network deployments and making them a reality, we are looking for you.

The tasks to be carried out will be, among others:

  • Maintaining and operating network equipment in a wide area network.
  • Maintaining and operating security equipment.
  • Configuring and maintaining network tools to monitor core network.
  • Maintaining and operating optics communication, and optics tools.
  • Developing REDIMadrid by proposing improvement solutions.

Requirements:


  • At least 4 years work experience and a Bachelor's or Associates degree in Telecommunications, Computer Engineering or related field.
  • High knowledge of IP equipment in service provider environments.
  • Knowledge in security technologies in service provider environments.
  • Knowledge in design and maintenance optics communication (DWDM).
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (speaking, writing, and reading).
The following are desirable qualifications (not all are mandatory, but are a plus):

  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix environments, scripting languages, automating tools and data interchange formats, Python, Perl, and automating tools, e.g., Ansible and Jenkins.
  • Knowledge of SNMP, telemetry and netflow.
  • Knowledge of the following technologies:
  • Scripting languages, e.g., Bash.
  • Virtual Machines administration: KVM.
  • LaTeX.
  • Knowledge in networks monitoring tools (grafana, zabbix, optical tools).
  • Knowledge of data interchange formats such as XML and JSON and familiarity with Docker / Kubernetes, Mesos.
