Our Social Performance team works with corporations, multilateral finance institutions, and other private and public sector clients to assess a wide range of corporate social and ethical issues, identifying and communicating with stakeholders at corporate and operational level.

The work includes strategic and policy work, stakeholder consultation and engagement, and management systems, as well as field surveys to carry out to collect data aiming to identify, assess and manage social impact assessment, social management plan development such as resettlement frameworks / action plans stakeholder engagement plans, etc.


His/her main responsibilities and tasks will be:

  • Lead the social aspects of Projects compliant with national regulations and international standards and guidelines (mainly (World Bank, IFC, EBRD, Equator Principles)), including socioeconomic baseline data collection fieldwork design and coordination, socioeconomic baseline data reporting, conducting impact assessment and due diligence, developing mitigation measures, social management plans, stakeholder mapping and characterization and proposing engagement strategies, developing grievance mechanisms for communities, workers, advising clients on roles and responsibilities for management of social aspects including resources for stakeholder engagement and grievance management.
  • Supervise project team(s), coordinating workload and mentoring more junior practitioners. Manage local Subcontractors.
  • Provide strategic and technical guidance to the consultants writing the reports, undertake research and analysis, review deliverables prepared by more junior staff.
  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations: results of different types of projects and proposals.
  • Conduct field work activities when required (expected frequency is approximately once per quarter).
  • Manage or coordinate small or medium size projects or whole elements of larger multidisciplinary or global projects.
  • Deliver assigned tasks within contracted project or proposals under development.
  • Establishing strong working relationships with clients through robust project management and technical delivery.
  • Networking with the social and human rights community of practitioners within the whole organization and particularly within EMEA.
  • Contribute to business development (proposals preparation, identifying and following opportunities, attending and presenting in client events & relevant conferences).
  • Remain up to speed with latest developments in terms of relevant legislation and requirements applicable to projects and clients from a social perspective.
  • Ideally, Master's degree in sociology, anthropology, public policy, socioeconomics, human geography or related discipline.
- +10 years' experience is required.

  • Availability for travels in Europe and abroad.
  • Proficient in English. Fluent in French, Spanish, Arabic or Portuguese is a plus.
  • Deep knowledge of Equator Principles and World Bank group /International Finance Corporation Performance Standards and Guidelines, EBRD Performance Requirements.
  • Client oriented, interested and motivated to business development activities.
  • Soft skills and willingness to provide technical guidance to the team.
  • Project management skills (communications with clients, team coordination, report delivery and presentation of results to clients and authorities, budget and schedule control).
  • Experience working in projects in Europe and Africa.
  • Familiar with energy sector (renewables & oil and gas), infrastructure and mining.
  • Excellent communication skills including oral, written and presentation skills. Excellent written skills in English are required for report delivery.
  • Fieldwork experience.
  • Professional experience in ESIAs, ESDDs, HRIA's, Sustainable Finance, Resettlement, Stakeholder Engagement, community health, safety and security, social value creation (social investment, local content)
  • Ability to work in multicultural environment.
