Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS) is the leading supercomputing center in Spain. It houses MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe, was a founding and hosting member of the former European HPC infrastructure PRACE (Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe), and is now hosting entity for EuroHPC JU, the Joint Undertaking that leads largescale investments and HPC provision in Europe. The mission of BSC is to research, develop and manage information technologies in order to facilitate scientific progress. BSC combines HPC service provision and R&D into both computer and computational science (life, earth and engineering sciences) under one roof, and currently has over 900 staff from 55 countries.

Context And Mission
The High Performance Artificial Intelligence research group is growing, attracting both young talent and resources. This growth requires a stronger structure in which researchers with experience take responsability and proaction in the growth of the group. This position is intended to fit a middle, managing the practical aspects of a specific research project.
Key Duties
Leading development efforts of projects related with AI,
Guiding research lines for the group within AI.
Handling part of the relations of the groups with other institutions of interest (both public and private).
Managing students and developers in an efficient and healthy work environment.
Representing the group in different fora

Requirements:

Education
Degree in STEM
MSc in Artificial Intelligence
Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
Professional experience in at least 3 programming languages (3 years each)
Understanding of the AI field in width, with experience with at least 3 times of learning and/or reasoning paradigms.
Experience in writing and managing proposals and projects of the European funding frameworks (3 years)
Publishing record related with the AI field. At least 5 Q1 or top conference publications.
Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience
Experience with AWS
Docker, Kubernetes
NLP
DL frameworks (Pytorch/TF)
DBs
Agile technologies
Ontologies (OWL, RDF)
English fluent, Spanish functional
Competences
Leadership of groups.

Conditions

The position will be located at BSC within the Computer Sciences Department
We offer a fulltime contract (37.5h/week), a good working environment, a highly stimulating environment with stateoftheart infrastructure, flexible working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, support to the relocation procedures
Duration: Openended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project and budget duration
Holidays: 23 paid vacation days plus 24th and 31st of December per our collective agreement
Starting date: 1 July 2024
