EMEA Interim Payroll Expert


Position Location:

Barcelona, Spain


Primary Function:


Support the payroll aggregator migration and the payroll role migration to EMEA, defining and documenting the payroll processes for the Region.

Provide expertise on local compliance.


Reports To:

EMEA Regional Controller


Key Accountabilities

Business

  • Provide expertise on the oversee of the endtoend payroll processes for employees across multiple countries, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance, helping to adapt procedures to the Region according to regulations and compliance.
  • Define the workflow to address employee payroll inquiries and be the link with key stakeholders to address issues related to compensation, deductions, and tax withholdings.
  • Support the migration and implementation across EMEA of a new global payroll vendor, providing standard methodology, and supporting discovery sessions with key partners.
  • Share best practices to review workflows to validate payroll inputs, including employee data, timesheets, benefits, and deductions, for accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide expertise and best practice to manage payroll data integrity and maintain employee records in compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Explores opportunities to simplify and automate processes to ensure maximum costefficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develops and documents procedural improvements.
  • Develop and/or delivery training related to payroll and culture awareness.

  • Drive consistency in endtoend payroll process supporting improved efficiencies/compliance and standardization.

Knowledge, Skills,

and Requirements:


  • A minimum of 10 years of international experience in the sector.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are required.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced, multitasking, deadlinedriven environment.
  • Experience with automated Payroll systems and utilizing a thirdparty payroll provider.
  • Handle highly sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate high standards of customer service and excellent followup skills.
  • Strong analytical and math skills to identify issues and problem solve.
  • Critical thinker to identify areas of improvement and recommend process improvements.
  • Ability to read and interpret data, information and documents and assess reasonableness.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Intermediate Excel skills using pivot tables and Vlookups.
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • English and Spanish. Other European languages are a plus.

Nice to have:


  • Experience using UKG PRO and Workforce Dimensions
  • Manufacturing payroll is a plus.
