As an Engineering Manager, you'll work closely with Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and Developers to drive innovation and make a difference.

The Job:


  • Line-Management: Provide effective leadership and guidance to a diverse team of developers, fostering their professional growth and ensuring their needs are met.
  • Onboarding: Develop comprehensive materials and onboarding programs for new developers to facilitate their smooth integration into the team.
  • Resource Planning: Stay uptodate with the project roadmap and ensure adequate resource allocation in terms of skill sets and team size.
  • Recruitment: Assess recruitment needs in a timely manner, write compelling job specifications, and raise requisitions to attract top talent to the team.
  • Retention: Support all developers and create an environment where their needs are met, promoting high employee satisfaction and retention rates.
  • 1on1s with Developers: Maintain regular communication with developers, discussing their development and career plans, and providing feedback on their performance.
  • Performance Evaluations: Conduct biannual performance reviews based on defined competencies and make recommendations for promotions and salary reviews.
  • Conflict Resolution: Facilitate constructive conflict resolution and promote a positive team dynamic, intervening when conflicts become personal.

Team Members:
Offer ad-hoc assistance to developers during times of personal or professional difficulty to ensure their well-being and productivity.

  • Holiday Management: Coordinate and manage holiday schedules within the team, ensuring adequate coverage and mínimal disruption to projects.
  • Collaboration with

Engineering Management:

Collaborate with the Engineering Management function to identify and implement improvements in processes, procedures, people, organisation, communication, staff development, engineering excellence, technical support, planning, and data-driven decision making.


  • Reviewing Engineering Practices: Review and enhance engineering and programming practices within the team to achieve the highest levels of excellence.
  • Encourage adoption of practices which can improve the team's collaboration and output such as pair programming, periodic brainstorming sessions, mobbing etc.
  • Process Adherence: Ensure that merge requests follow established procedures and that Git project contribution rules are followed.

What you already have:


  • 5+ years of experience as a developer/software engineer in a corporate environment, with a solid understanding of different design patterns, architectural approaches, CI/CD, source control, and experience in some of TDD/BDD/ATDD, Agile, LEAN, and XP.
  • 2+ years of handsoff technical management experience with direct reportingline responsibility for software developers.
  • A collaborative and forward leaning leadership style.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong appreciation for software engineering best practices, Agile and other SDLC practices, team health, and developer skill sets and aptitude.
