Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning was established on October 1st, 2015 as a joint venture between Hitachi Appliances, Inc. (now Hitachi Global Life Solutions, Inc.) and Johnson Controls, Inc. Hitachi Appliances carved out and contributed its air conditioning business to the Joint Venture. Johnson Controls acquired a 60% stake of the carved-out business and Hitachi Global Life Solutions, Inc. continues as a 40% shareholder of this venture.


With this joint venture, two rich, 100-year-old cultures and histories have come together to create one exciting new company, serving our combined customers with the most diverse product portfolio in the air conditioning industry.

For our Vacarisses Plant, in Barcelona, we are looking for a:

Purchase Engineer

What you will do
The purchase engineer will execute procurement planning based on demand planning forecast and aligned with local organizational needs.

The responsibilities of the role include establishing relationships with suppliers/factories and negotiate delivery schedules with them, processing requisitions and update management on the status of orders and updating inventory and manage stock levels monitoring the quality of stock, escalating, and managing any discrepancies with suppliers and HQ team.


The person selected will be responsible of organize transportation of goods and track orders to ensure timely delivery, coordinate with demand team, B&B, local organization and cooperate with buyers in other countries.


How you will do it

  • Analysis and creation of orders
  • Stock discrepancies and necessary adjustments
  • STO transfers between countries
  • Other warehouse tasks such as manual receipts, subinventory transfers...
  • Tracking of shipments from the factories and with the carriers
  • Creation of ASN for containers
  • Invoice review in Basware for all orders
  • Updating of arrival dates for all orders
  • Stock counting

What we are looking for
Engineering (industrial, mechanical or electronic)

Bachelor's in Supply Chain

Minimum 5 years of similar experience

Knowledge of working in SAP environment

Strong interpersonal skills to work with team members, clients and suppliers.

Negotiation skills to work with suppliers and make better deals for the company.

An understanding of purchase order software platforms.

Good attention to detail to ensure all purchase orders are accurate.

High level of English
