YOUR TASK


Our Global Pigment Category Lead is responsible for sourcing and procurement of ~500M$ spend on organic and inorganic pigments on global company level.

The incumbent will manage a team of 5 direct reports.

  • Participate in setting category strategies and effective supplier negotiations strategies and tactics, including the determination of which materials and suppliers are managed globally, regionally and locally in the interest of maximizing value and business efficiencies
  • Implement, maintain and enhance supplier relationship management programs with key suppliers, including metrics, performance goals and improvement initiatives
  • Develop and maintain best in class sourcing capability in category management from initial determination of requirements and specifications, through to negotiations and supplier management
  • Actively engage with key stakeholders from different business segments to collect and understand technical and commercial requirements for pigments across plants and businesses. and incorporate them into the supplier selection process
  • Work with Supply Chain to obtain the demand forecast and aggregate the demand on supplier level
  • Support and drive Make vs Buy projects and opportunities
  • Actively screen the market and develop comprehensive understanding of the internal needs to identify cost savings opportunities
  • Act as point of escalation for supply issue resolutions with suppliers
  • Manage a team of employees located in Asia, Europe and North America, including developing of talent management and succession planning

YOUR PROFILE

  • Bachelor's degree or MBA in Business Economics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or similar
  • Experience in Global Procurement and Sourcing, preferably for a Chemical Company
  • Experience in the field of Pigments Category Management is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written in English
  • Excellent analytical, decision making and negotiation skills
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office, experience in SAP is a plus
