We are looking to appoint a new
Head of Corporate and Adjacent Sales who will be responsible to lead and manage the development of commercial activities in new markets, focusing on English Language Learning programmes and assessment tools.


This role will involve strategic collaboration with various departments to explore and seize new business opportunities, aiming to establish OUPE as a significant player in new sectors, including Ministry, Corporate, and Higher Education.

This role is based in our head office in San Fernando de Henares (Madrid).


The main responsibilities will be:

  • Identify, qualify, and bid for relevant tenders in the Spain education market, building proposals and business cases to deliver incremental revenue.
  • Manage commercial relationships with key corporate and ministry accounts, adhering to the strategic guidelines provided by the Sales Director.
  • Ensure compliance with the OUP Code of Conduct and Bribery & Compliance regulations in all business dealings.
  • Develop and implement business plans and sales objectives for large new accounts in the corporate sector, proposing innovative solutions for business growth.
  • Maximize sales volume and cultivate longlasting relationships with strategic customers, enhancing mutual value.
  • Collaborate with the Product Department to identify and develop new business opportunities. Coordinate with the assessment business to maximize opportunities for bundling training with certification. Liaise with Strategic Partners in OUP UK to ensure full alignment with the global strategy.

Essential:

  • Strong commercial skills. Strong influencing, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Insightful, comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty, proactive, collaborative, and consultative
  • Experience of delivering significant sales growth in corporate education and/or ministry sector. Experience of delivering tender opportunities in educational sector
  • Ability to build strong business cases identifying critical dependencies and key risks.
  • Able to lead and motivate diverse teams to deliver complex projects within a matrix environment.
  • Ability to write and communicate in English to at least B2 level.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of educational market in Spain
  • Firsthand experience of corporate selling and tender opportunities in education sector
