Looking for an exciting research opportunity in one of the leading scientific research institutes? Come join us at ICIQ:
The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher to work in Dr. Jose Berrocal's research group. This position will be funded by ERC Starting Grant.
- and mechano-responsive polymer materials.


Responsibilities

  • Thermal and mechanical characterization of polymer materials with dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA), tensile testing, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermal gravimetric anaylsis (TGA)
  • Assist the supervisor in the daily supervision of the PhD students
  • Study the photo
- and mechano-responsive behavior of polymers with setups combining microtensile testing and optical probes measuring transmittance spectra

  • Production of written reports and presentations to update the group/supervisor

Requirements:


  • PhD in Chemistry or Materials science
  • Level of English equal to B2 or higher
  • Prior experience with small reparation of laboratory instrumentations
  • Ability to work independently and in teams

Valued qualities:


  • Willigness to undergo a robust training in soft skills and mentoring
  • Active participation in discussion meetings and brainstorming sessions
  • Willigness to coach/collaborate with PhD students
  • Willigness to contribute in project writing

We offer:


  • A 3year fulltime position.
  • Remuneration according to individual's qualifications/experience
  • Annual salary split in twelve monthly payments
  • Incorporation: June/July 2024.
