The Team:

You will be part of the global Competitive Engagement team. It is a strategic function within the Value Engineering organization responsible for the entire customer value journey.

Our Competitive Engagement team ensures Celonis wins competitive projects to maintain and grow the customer base and contributes to market education.

We provide strategic advice, cutting-edge tools, and best practices for our teams, creating a competitive edge.

We deliver vital recommendations to our executive team to improve product and Go-To-Market strategy while driving strategic initiatives to advance the process intelligence software category.


The Internship
You will report to the leader of the Competitive Engagement team.

As a key player in a high-impact team, you will assist in translating our customers' business challenges into solutions within our product offering, creating a unique value proposition only Celonis can offer.


In this interdisciplinary role, you start building out your process and industry expertise in addition to consulting and analytical skills.

It helps you to create a deep understanding of the competitive landscape, adjacent software categories, and technology trends.


Finally, you assist high-impact projects and will have the chance to drive projects of your own autonomously such as building scalable tools for our global teams.

In the projects, we collaborate with external customers/partners and internal stakeholders (e.g., Go-to-Market, Product Management, Corporate Strategy).


The work you'll do:

Assist competitive & strategic customer projects

  • Learn alongside our trusted advisors of our Account Teams (Sales & Customer Success) in competitive projects & deals. This includes engaging with customers to differentiate Celonis from other vendors or coaching the teams on how to outmaneuver them
  • Develop skill set to ensure a robust competitive differentiation and showcase the strategic and quantitative value of our solution in every engagement (e.g., in executive pitches, product demos, and proposal responses)
Build a global engine to win

  • Help to innovate and create scalable tools & methods for our global Go-ToMarket organization to execute better and win
  • Establish a thorough understanding of our competitive landscape and adjacent technological categories to support us enabling our Go-ToMarket teams to succeed
Support our hypergrowth journey

  • Conduct trend analysis and debriefs on competitive deals together with Market Intelligence and report back to the executive team to improve our product and sales strategy
  • Collaborate with our Product Marketing & Corporate Strategy team to define the way we present our value proposition and support strategic (C-Level) initiatives to advance our leadership in our software category (e.g., analyst evaluations)

The qualifications you need:


  • Pursuing an excellent university degree. All disciplines are welcome, but it is advantageous if you are studying in Technology & Management, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a comparable program
  • Prior (internship) experience in solution engineering, management/strategy consulting, product marketing, market intelligence, or a comparable fastpaced environment
  • Are comfortable with ambiguous, everchanging situations and seek opportunities to think outside the box
  • Ability to approach complex problems quantitatively, work in a structured way, and learn new topics quickly
  • Agile and teamoriented with excellent presentation & communication skills in English
  • Ability to see the strategic big picture while also working on the details
