Lubrizol has a leadership opening in our Lubrizol Additives Global Supply Chain team. As a

Director of

Global Strategic Planning, you will be responsible for ensuring LZA Global Supply plans meet mid and long term sales targets, as well as identifying and mitigating Supply risks. As part of our focus on Operational Excellence, you will also drive continuous improvement in global supply chain costs and performance.

This position will be based out of our Global Headquarters in Wickliffe, OH.


Key Focus Areas:


  • Lead and communicate _
  • Lead the Strategic Planning team who owns the global supply plan.
  • Provide a communication and coordination link to Supply Chain, Procurement, Process Technology and Product Management.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination within Supply Chain, between regions as well as between Operations and the commercial team to drive key initiatives.
  • Provide support for strategic procurement raw material initiatives and risk mitigation plans including the demand outlook for planning and contract negotiations.
  • Orchestrate monthly S&OP execution, focusing on Supply Planning review _
  • Lead the S&OP monthly Supply and Pre-S&OP review with emphasis on being actionoriented.
  • Anticipate global supply needs to balance the global demand plan. It should cover the S&OP horizon and the longterm strategy of the commercial team up to 5 years.
  • Drive the team to Identify and communicate gaps between consensus plan and supply planning constraints. Aid in the development of alternative options to mitigate gaps.
  • Lead global capacity planning to define options and secure approval on final plans to resolve capacity issues.
  • Work with various crossfunctional teams on projects such as new product launches, line extensions, product discontinuations, and other key demandinfluencing processes.
  • Enforce update of the manufacturing asset constraints for supply planning.
  • Optimize sourcing cost and working capital_
  • Determine global inventory target and plan and monitor plan execution
  • Support reduction of nonworking slow moving inventory by identifying opportunities to shape and influence demand.
  • Drive the team towards optimization of sourcing decision.
  • Enforce complexity reduction.
  • Enforce Capacity planning optimization, Orchestrate Annual Supply Plan and 5 years capacity projection requirement _
  • Prepare and communicate the annual and strategic manufacturing asset plans.
  • Support Manufacturing team Work with Finance team and PT leaders and Manufacturing by providing details needed to develop financial models for capital project stage /gate reviews and final project authorization, required to support long term plan.
  • Identify long term capacity requirements ( 5 years ) generated by strategic commercial plans.
  • Lead Business Continuity Management initiatives _
  • Support and lead Supply alternatives at time of crisis in close collaboration with Demand Director
  • Drive evaluation/development of BCP (business Continuity Planning) and initiate creation of mitigation plan.
  • Lead the key accounts Supply Chain Managers program and eventually act as a key account SCM for a major account_

What you need:


  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or relatable discipline from an accredited university


  • Knowledge of Kinaxis

  • Rapid Response SAP Business Objects, Microsoft Power BI Desktop.
  • Minimum of 10 years in areas of supply chain, operations, or technology development, or prior applicable work experience.
  • Ability to identify the efforts that will have the greatest strategic impact and creates strategies to balance short term requirements with longterm plans.
  • Coaches, motivates, empowers, and develops others impacting the growth of the business. Takes actions, avoids status quo, and leads decisively
  • Strong working knowledge of the global business.
  • Builds and maintains productive working relationships across Lubrizol.
  • Delivers clear, concise, accurate and effective messages. Shares relevant information with all levels of the organization.
  • Builds excellent relationships with key customers based on trust and confidence.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into highlevel analysis for demand and strategic planning.
