    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    CIC energiGUNE is looking for a postdoctoral researcher to contribute to the development of new lithium-ion batteries suitable for high-capacity and high-voltage applications. The focus will be on exploring and validating the gellified cell concept by studying how cell design and assembly processes impact cell performance. This research is part of the cutting-edge NEXTCELL project, involving top scientists in the field of solid-state batteries, who are ready to tackle new challenges.

    Main responsibilities:

    • Understanding the impact of assembly parameters on monolayer and multilayer pouch cells.
    • Analyzing the quality of the electrode/separator interface post cycling.
    • Evaluating the influence of various cell design and processing factors on electrochemical performance.

    Area: Electrochemical energy storage (EES)

    Research group: Cell prototyping

    • PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related fields.
    • Experience with polymer electrolytes.
    • Proficiency in topics such as pouch cell design, electrochemical characterization techniques, and physico-chemical material characterization.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with teammates, partner organizations, and industries.
    • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
