The key tasks for the project will involve:

  • Comparison of lipid extraction methods for analysis of DBS, looking for efficient extraction and good recoveries for most abundant lipid classes.
  • Development of semitargeted analytical approaches based on inhouse libraries.
  • On the other hand, samples in the DBS, although is easy to collect, transport and storage, have a high risk of autooxidation due to air exposure (O2) and other environmental factors that must be evaluated. Therefore, specific methologies for characterization of oxidized lipids will be developed.

Requeriments:

  • Competence with analytical chemistry and metabolomics data analysis are desirable and will be favourably considered.
