ROLE PURPOSE:

The Gift In-Kind Program Officer (GIK PO) will work with the GIK Director to implement and supervise all aspects of Hope for Haiti's Gift-In-Kind Program, including but not limited to: shipment delivery to our warehouse; distribution to program partners; stock inventory and expiration; depot facilities management; product tracking; and data management.

The GIK PO helps the GIK Director in the following area:

the classification of all documents related to distribution, deliveries and for maintaining positive, professional relationships with all official program sites and staff members.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Logistics: The GIK PO will be responsible for coordinating importation of materials into Haiti. They will communicate with the GIK Director, Freight Forwarder, Donors, and Logistics contractors to safely, efficiently, and costefficiency move product to Les Cayes. This will include oversight of day laborers, unloading and sorting deliveries. The GIK PO will be present for the arrival and departure of all inventory;
  • Inventory Management: The GIK PO will be responsible for the organization, storage, and flow of all HFH GIK depots. They will be responsible for daytoday cleaning, sorting and organizing, as well as quarterly inventory checks and reporting;
  • Finance: The GIK PO will be responsible for processing payment requests, submitting invoices, PO requests, and other financial data. They will share cost saving ideas and ensure we are investing in quality partnerships and contracts;
  • Impact: The GIK PO will support HFH's GIK goal to import and deliver medication and medical supplies to those who need them most. They will share impact stories, photos, and videos to help share HFH's impact and meet donor requirements;
  • Data: The GIK PO is responsible for maintaining key GIK documents on Google Drive. This includes daily/weekly written updates into the documents, as well as verbal and written reports as requested. The GIK PO will also be responsible for updating and maintaining partner records in the database. If requested, the GIK PO will pull reports and make decisions based on the data;
  • Staff Management: The GIK PO will be a handson manager and support the growth of the GIK Program Assistant. They will hold weekly inperson meetings and up skill their team members.
  • Other tasks as requested by the manager.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • 5 years of experience working on logistics, project management, supply chain, and healthcare access;
  • Extensive knowledge of Haitian import laws and regulations;
  • Ability to manage team members and willingness to support their professional development;
  • Strong computer skills and attention to detail with data entry and verification;
  • Basic office skills like scanning, printing, and creating digital files;
  • Enthusiasm for working with diverse partner network to manage requests and provide feedback on allocations;
  • Ability to lead virtual and inperson meetings with 50+ attendees;
  • Professional fluency in English and Haitian Creole; and
  • Prior work with NGO and underserved populations preferred.
