Job Description:


As part of the Network Engineering Team, be responsible for the successful operation and continuous improvement of the Global Network Services and ensure optimal performance of the company's global network services.


Specific responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Be a focal point of contact within the group for Network activities.
  • Leverage appropriate/new network services.
  • Operate at scale and provide the connection between different IT areas and stakeholders to support Global Network Services and deliver those within the group.
  • Participate/Lead onboarding of key global network initiatives into operations.
  • Build excellent relationships with operational and nonoperational counterparts.
  • Work with Integration and Engineering teams to proactively and reactively identify problems from vendors and thirdparty network providers that could impact the SGS network and services and manage these through the Problem Management program.
  • Critical Network Incident Management Level
  • Participate on meetings with stakeholders to identify plans, issues and achievements.
  • When needed, drive incident resolution with 3rd party to meet service SLA targets.
  • Support Change Management, Problem Management.

Qualifications:


  • Tertiary or higher education in Computer Engineering, Information Systems engineering or a relevant discipline.
  • Certification in networking, such as CCNA or CCNP, or related qualifications.
  • Certification in ITIL to Foundation level or above would be a distinct advantage.
  • Certification or proven experience in working with Riverbed SDWAN technology is a plus.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in similar positions on worldwide large and complex global networks (more than 1.000 sites).
  • Strong proficiency in network routing protocols, as well as network security technologies.
  • Experience in softwaredefined networks and cloudbased security solutions would be an advantage.
  • Experience in planning, design and document SD-WAN architecture.
  • Experience in Incident / Problem / Change Management.
  • Experience of working with internationally based customers and service providers.
  • Deep understanding of the processes and practices of Customer Support and Service Level Management. (ITIL).
  • Proven track record of working within standardsbased operations environments.
  • Able to communicate in fluent English, any other languages are a plus.
  • Significant experience in managing escalated incidents through to resolution.
  • Ability to operate within an engineering and NOC environment.
  • Proficient in English
  • Any additional language is an advantage
  • Strong team player
  • Ability to build proactive, cooperative working relationships with customers, peers and key stakeholders based on respect and teamwork
  • Ability to act under strong pressure and to manage efficiently crisis situations
  • Able to evaluate information, identify key issues and formulate conclusions based on sound, practical judgment, experience and common sense
