Are you looking for your next role?I am recruiting on behalf of a client who provides all kinds of Engineering and Project Management services regarding the Offshore Wind sector.

They are currently looking for an experienced Design Manager to join their team full-time in Bilbao, Spain.

This position is highly visible and thus requires strong interpersonal, communication, management, and presentation skills.

They seek someone with the willingness to set ambitious goals and the relentlessness to deliver on these goals, through thorough planning and meticulous execution.

Develop and maintain relationships with key clients across the offshore wind sector.

Primary responsibilities of the Design Manager will include but are not limited to performing detailed calculations for the analysis, design of the floater, leading group(s) of staff engineers in doing the same, preparing, reviewing and checking drawings, specifications and reports, assisting in development of proposals and staff mentorship.

The Design Manager will take an active, leading role in preparing key deliverables addressing our clients' needs, providing engineering solutions to the harder-to-solve problems.

He/She will provide team leadership in all technical aspects of the floater design.

The Design Manager is expected to work closely and report to the Chief Engineer, and to liaise with the Technical Managers of other engineering disciplines (i.e., electrical engineering, etc).

Guide and mentor staff, foster a collaborative and inclusive environment.

Requirements:

Education:
Master's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.

Minimum of 6/7 years of design and management experience with renowned engineering firms.

Preference is given to those with experience designing offshore structures and floating offshore wind foundations.

Firm and practical knowledge of class standards and relevant regulations (ABS, BV, DNV, etc)

Proven experience working in multidisciplinary environments.

Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Capacity to provide technical supervision to junior engineers.

Excellent written and oral communication skills in Spanish and English.
