The
Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute (IJC) is a non-profit research institute based in Barcelona dedicated to advancing the understanding of leukemia and related disorders, in collaboration with the University of Barcelona and the Autonomous University of Barcelona.

The IJC has laboratories in 5 clinical campuses:
i) Hospital Clínic, ii) Hospital de Sant Pau and iii) Hospital Germans Trias Pujol iv) Hospital del Mar and v) Hospital Josep Trueta Girona.

IJC serves as a collaborative center for basic researchers and physicians to work together on fundamental clinical and biological aspects of leukemia.

PhD student for the group led by
Dr.

Sergi Cuartero.

Research Description
We are seeking a PhD student to join the Transcriptional Dynamics in Leukemia group, led by Dr Sergi Cuartero.

Using a combination of genome-wide sequencing approaches, CRISPR-editing tools, and advanced molecular biology technologies, the team investigates how mutations in epigenetic modifiers and transcription factors contribute to leukaemia development.

We are located in the brand-new building of the Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute (IJC), a top research institute in the Barcelona area, and a highly stimulating scientific environment.

What we need

General skills

Committed scientist with a competitive scientific record and experience in cellular and molecular biology, epigenetics, blood cell biology, and associated malignancies.
Experience working in an international group
A high level of motivation and interest in biomedical research.
Good communication skills.
Fluent in English

Technical skills

MSc in Immunology or related field
Expertise in molecular biology and cell culture
Expertise in bone marrow primary cell isolation and culture
Expertise in flow cytometry
We will value expertise in NGS library preparation
