We are currently growing our Industrial and Smart Energy (ISE) team and are seeking a business leader to help drive the growth and shape the future of a collaborative, high performance, growth-oriented business unit.


About this opportunity
We are looking for a passionate and results-oriented leader to be part of our global Advanced Technology Solutions organization.

The Business Development Consultant will be a strategic account owner, developing specific market strategies and leading the extended organization to develop and grow accounts in support of the Automation and Drives business unit with in the Industrial and Smart Energy strategy.

The ISE market is complex and evolving, and customer requirements are ever-changing.

We're seeking a highly motivated and savvy business leader to build high performing teams and influence stakeholders to attain and grow multiple accounts.


This role is a prime development opportunity for those interested in developing their entrepreneurial and business growth skills, while shaping the future of a new business unit.


Job Overview

  • Develop market subsegment strategies, including synthesizing market trends and needs to develop gotomarket strategies, target accounts, and value propositions.
  • Responsible for providing crossfunctional and crossregional leadership to develop and execute global account strategies for profitable growth.
  • Develops and directly owns the customer relationship at an executive level; monitoring of customer satisfaction across all business elements.
  • Develops and negotiates customer contracts.
  • Identifies funnel opportunities and growth strategies to develop revenue streams and to grow account revenue. Engaging insightled customer proposals; performs market analysis and develops specific customer value propositions, including unsolicited approaches.
  • Ownership of the global financial P&L and balance sheet performance; provides global account direction to all stakeholders, including operations, supply chain, finance to ensure account growth and performance.
  • Supports strategy and planning for specific market subsegment and customers
  • Develops and deploys multiple service engagement models.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, relationship management and business development skills
  • Strong strategic planning and execution skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of operations, including manufacturing processes, schedules and scheduling requirements, supply chain, product development project management, logistics and product delivery methods.
  • Indepth knowledge of product pricing, contracts and contract negotiations.
  • Ability to effectively lead and motivate a diverse group of employees to achieve results.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple, detailed and complex projects.
  • Proven track record of account management and account development.
  • Ability to understand Profit and Loss modeling and sales impacts to improving customer financials.
  • Value based solution selling, business judgment, negotiation and decisionmaking skills.
  • Experience working and communicating with senior level executives, internally and externally.
  • Exceptional ability to work with others as part of a crossfunctional team.
  • Excellent reporting skills, provides current reports, containing time bound actions and defined actionee.
  • Experience working with vast remote crossfunctional teams in large matrixed organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to have successfully carried a sales, revenue or operational quota gains.

Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree with at least 7 years' experience. Of those 7 years, at least 3 in a managing others or in a senior program management role.
