The
Process Safety Technical Lead provides technical leadership and partnership to facilitate development and implementation of the Process Safety program for the region, to enhance and standardize Ecolab's Process Safety program.

This person is an integral member of the Global Supply Chain Manufacturing, Process Safety, SHE and Engineering teams, providing process safety, chemistry and engineering expertise to lead Ecolab to the next level of capability in our Global Process Safety Program.


This role reports into the
Regional SHE & PS Director, and is accountable for championing rollout and implementation of the Process Safety.

Main Responsibilities:


Part of the regional SHE and Process Safety team accountable for implementing the Ecolab Process Safety Program within the region.

  • Provide input and support implementation to the Process Safety (PS) road map for the region, Drive consistency in technology and processes across the region.
  • Identify gaps in current PS program and prioritize to develop a gap closure program based on risk return analysis
  • Mentor associates within the region, in particular at manufacturing sites to develop an "extended process safety team" within the region
  • Conduct PS reviews for regional capital projects throughout the project, particularly at the design stage (PHA
  • HAZOP)
  • Support the regional ECAP audit program and Site technical visits
  • Develop and implement new PS best practice guidance
  • Provide technical training to all levels of the supply chain organisation to deliver the regional process safety program.
  • Leverage solutions and share lessons learned into and out of the region via the Global SHE / PS teams
  • Develop creative cost effective solutions to meet global intent (with Engineering/Ops)
  • Continually develop own PS expertise to stay ahead of latest PS standards and best practices
  • Support integration of acquisitions into the region
  • Support and develop TPM PM pillar practices in particular the mechanical integrity program
  • Support TPM SHE pillar deployment within the region
  • Coordinate the technical capability within the Community of Practice, establishing priorities, and negotiating resources with region SC leaders and Strategic functional leader.
  • Analyze progress, results of lagging and leading metrics, develop analysis, Health checks and issues to the Functional leader. Monitor and drive the performance of all sites with the support of HPN members.
  • Partner with Site process safety leaders to identify gaps in current PS program and performance and prioritize to develop a gap closure program based on risk return analysis.
  • Provide technical support to Operational team members who will be doing Process Safety work within the Market by reviewing MOCs, RCAs, SOPs and training programs.
  • Ensure PS is integrated into business project programs (NPI, Phase gate, GTT, CRB)
  • To coordinate necessary trainings, Gap assessments to get Process Safety Qualifications in place.
  • Deliver engineering, process engineering and process safety training to the functional leaders at the plants.
  • Understands and adheres to Ecolab policies, procedures, and guidelines pertaining to safety, health and environmental emphasizing this perspective in their own work and in the work of others

Position Requirements

  • Up to 30% travel may be required

Qualifications and Experience

  • Advanced specialized engineering degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of operations or engineering experience in Chemical industry
  • Technically skilled in using Process Safety tools and concepts (eg MOC, HAZOP, HAZID, FMEA, RCA)
  • Record of consistently delivering results despite obstacles and setbacks
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in a variety of communication settings (oneonone, small and large groups), across diverse styles and position levels
  • Ability to influence crossfunctional teams to a common path forward
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives and gain the trust and support of others
  • Ability to make quality and timely decisions using fact based to initiate and support appropriate actions.
  • Ability to effectively exchange information, instructions and ideas within crossfunctional technical groups

Preferred:


  • 3+ years supervisory experience within a manufacturing facility
  • PSQ level 1 Qualified
  • HAZOP facilitator Qualified
