Academic Director, Graduate Programs

IE School of Science & Technology
IE University (IEU) is one of the leading international universities in Spain.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our multicultural team at IE School of Science & Technology, based in Madrid.

This Academic Director will play a key role in the Graduate programs of the School of Science and Technology, including the QS globally ranked #7 Master's professional programs in Data Science with Business Analytics and the parallel professional Master's in computer science.

These incredibly successful programs for IE have tremendous potential for future growth.

As a member of the academic IE School of Science & Technology Senior Management Team, the academic director will support the vice dean of graduate programs in the delivery of the academic, strategic, operational, and commercial objectives of the current and/or future Graduate programs in big data, computer science and similar ones.

She/he will design and coordinate research projects, provide academic guidance, and represent the institution in several international forums. Additionally, she/he could teach some undergraduate and graduate courses at the University, if desired.

Liaise with key stakeholders at IE University, including senior staff (e.g. Deans, Vice Deans, Heads of school, Program Directors, Admissions office, International office, Careers department, etc.), with other appropriate bodies and within the IE Some relationships may also need to be developed with other external stakeholders.
Provide the Vice Dean of undergraduate programs with advice and support on all academic matters in light of commercial imperatives and financial targets as required.
Assist in the coordination and implementation of new curricular and extracurricular innovations and content.

Qualifications:

Requirements:

D. from a top university (preferred in the areas of Engineering, Computer science, Mathematics, and/or related STEM fields).

Fluent in English. Spanish as a second language or native is desirable.
Good communication skills (verbal and written).
Curious, eager to learn, openminded, and excellent teamwork skills.
Strong desire to work in a multicultural environment.
International experience is strongly preferred.
Good knowledge of the research realm, especially in the innovation, and technology fields.
Proven relevant experience as academic director is an asset.
Coding is not necessary, but it will be an asset (GitHub Portfolio)
Knowledge of accreditation processes and experience in them is an asset.
Strong customer orientation, negotiation, and problemsolving skills.
