The Enterprise Data Office team collaborates across AstraZeneca to drive innovation through data, enabling AI analytics at scale, while protecting AZ's right to operate via data RISK management while maximising the value that data can deliver to our organisation and patients.


Introduction to the role**As the Change & Communications Associate Director you
will join the Enterprise Data Office communications & change team, which focuses on supporting Data driven capabilities across AstraZeneca, ensuring that all can benefit from a centralised approach to management, policies, standards, and learning in this critical area. You will be an integral part of the team that engages across the enterprise and data communities to inspire engagement and cultural change by bringing awareness and celebrate value of our data activities.


Key Responsibilities

Change Management

  • Support the design and delivery of change management plans that maximise adoption of new capabilities and services as well as employee engagement.
  • Collaborate with a community of change agents embedded across AZ and guide/partner with them on successful execution of change initiatives.
  • Measure the effectiveness of change plans and adjust as necessary to improve outcomes.
  • Responsible for guiding change activities across our Value Stream portfolio of services and the wider enterprise.
  • Create and maintain documentation and other materials related to change management efforts.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate the change agility in our Value Streams, adjusting as needed to ensure it remains effective and relevant.

Strategic Communication

  • Implement and evolve aspects of communication strategy in support of the EDO strategy.
  • Develop and execute integrated change management and communications plans for our Value Streams.
  • Foster an EDO culture to be a great place to work by establishing positive local engagement and empowering employees to connect in wider forums.
  • Create engaging content for a variety of communication channels (EDO, Set Area Data Office Forum, etc.)
  • Measure the effectiveness of communication plans.

Learning & Development

  • Design and implement a comprehensive Learning & Development (L&D) programme tailored specifically for our Value Streams.
  • Identify learning needs and skills gaps within the Value Streams through regular consultation with team leaders and managers.
  • Measure the success and impact of the L&D programme through key performance indicators, making necessary adjustments for continuous improvement.

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant university degree (BS/BA) or advanced degree preferred (MA, MBA, PhD).
  • At least 3 years' experience in a similar organisation or academic experience.
  • Background and experience in communication and events.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Stakeholder management experience.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong networking and team working skills.
  • Experience in developing and implementing change in complex environments.
  • Extensive experience of working in multi layered teams in a global environment.
  • Ability to adapt to constantly changing needs with an open and constructive mindset.
  • Effective strategic thinking and problemsolving skills.

Desired requirements

  • Knowledge of data management and policy, analytics, data science, AI and machine learning.
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical drug discovery and development process.
  • Knowledge of modern marketing approaches and use of social media to reach stakeholders.
