    Context And Mission
  • Within this context, the applicant will lead (i) the implementation and optimization tasks of material modelling for static and fatigue prediction of composite materials and other materials of interest. (ii) activities related to algorithmic and computational optimizations on the solid mechanic's module and its coupling with other Alya multiphysics software physics modules.
    Key Duties
  • Leading the development and implementation of damage and fracture models applied to different types of materials.
  • Leading algorithmic and computational optimizations of several parts of the solid mechanics codes for its portability to interact with partners of several European research projects.
  • Contribute to scientific publications and report to different projects in which the researcher will be involved.

Requirements:


  • Education
  • Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical engineering.
  • A Master's in mechanics of materials or machine learning will be very valuable.
  • Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
- o Knowledge of solid mechanics and constitutive modelling, including damage and fracture, is expected.

  • Basic knowledge of programming languages such as Fortran, Python, C, and C++ is also expected.
  • Fluency in English is essential.
  • Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience
  • General knowledge in High-Performance Computing addressing performance engineering tasks such as exploitation of core, processor
- and system-level of parallelism will be considered an asset.

  • Being familiar with AI frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch in the context of HPC will also be very valuable.
  • Competences
  • Work independently and make decisions.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills to work in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Organizing skills, problemsolving and proactive.

  • The position will be located at BSC within the CASE Department
