Our opportunity
The role provides a great opportunity to collaborate closely with many experts, while being empowered to enable the successful delivery of the technical solutions to meet the requirements for the increasingly complex Ant-Money Laundering/Counter-Terrorist Financing and Trade and Economic Sanctions landscape.
You will be part of a journey starting for the conceptualization, build and delivery of a green field solution to enable new technology for the Business.
The contract would initially be temporary with a high probability of transition to permanent staff after six months.
Your role
As a Cloud Engineer your main responsibilities will involve
- Design, implement and maintain tooling and orchestration of Cloud services
- Own the daytoday technical operation of Cloud services
- Work across project stakeholders and suppliers to prepare for cloud operational requirements.
- Ensure new cloud workloads are smoothly being transitioned into regular operations.
- Provide technical governance in the cloud.
- Maintain asset and cloud workloads inventory.
- Monitor performance of cloud workloads.
- Maintain operational compliance.
- Support event, incident, change and problem management, including endtoend management of incidents across all platforms.
- Determine impact of disruptions, or performance degradation.
- Recover assets and deliver minimum business interruptions if there is performance degradation or incident.
- Mature implementation of monitoring and observability patterns.
- Identify and drive process automation where reasonable and possible.
- Work within disperse / virtual / offshore teams within our company and supplier resources as required.
Your Skills and Experience
As a Cloud Engineer your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
Cloud Administration
-
Required work experience in:
- Designing and building web environments on AWS, which includes working with services like
EC2,
ELB,
RDS,
MSK,
OpenSearch, and
S3. AWS Certifications are valuable. - A solid background in Linux/Unix server system administration. operating and updating systems with no downtime
- Using DevOps tools in a cloud environment, such as
Ansible, Artifactory, Docker, GitHub, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Maven, and Sonar Qube - Using monitoring solutions like CloudWatch and ELK Stack
- An understanding of writing InfrastructureasCode (IaC), using
Terraform: - Knowledge of one or more of the most-used programming languages available for today's cloud computing (i.e., SQL data, XML data, R math, Clojure math, Haskell functional, Erlang functional, Python procedural, and Go procedural languages)
- Troubleshooting distributed systems
- Proficiency in script development and scripting languages
- Identity management and governance management
- Modern source control (
Git (
BitBucket), branching models, versioning) - CI/CD strategy (DevOps pipelines, quality gates, builds and artifact versioning, DB migrations and ETL, release strategies )
Soft skills
- Team spirit and customer oriented.
- Proactive attitude.
- Strong Communication skills.
- Good selfmanagement skills and stress resilience.
- Highly organized with good attention to detail.
- The ability and skill to train other people in procedural and technical topics
Language skills
- Fluent in written and spoken English; desired: Spanish, and German is a plus.
