This position is based out of Spain, with focus on Private and public Cloud environment and you will have colleagues in other locations such as India / Europe and US.


Your mission and responsibilities:


  • We are seeking a Private Cloud Solution Engineer to join our VMware Virtualization team in to manage / support our VMware Cloud Director environment globally.
  • This position will be involving working in a team environment with a group of Systems Engineers globally in the organization. Collaborating with different IT and business engineering groups to perform and optimize the hosting services for internal use which operates in our datacenter's environment.
  • The position requires deep knowledge of fundamentals of VMware ESX, Cloud Director, NSX and related technologies. Knowledge about vRealize Suite / multicloud and public cloud technology is a plus.

Task and responsibilities:


  • Responsible for the VMware vSphere and Cloud Director Infrastructure environment.
  • Manage the VMware Cloud Director infrastructure and implement changes on the environment
  • Responsible for product management and transformation.
  • Support asset inventory of ESX systems to ensure discovery and correct reporting in our CMDB.
  • Produce frequent license audits, remain compliant with licensing under the guidelines of our enterprise agreement, and collaborate with the licensing team on license, audit and compliance activities.
  • Ongoing projects & production support
  • Plan and execute regular IT equipment refresh (Servers, storage and Software refresh, etc.)
  • Provide system performance and tuning as well as root cause determination in the event of failures.
  • Collaborates with the global VMware team and other IT towers to design future and support actual VMware environment.
  • Collaborates with the Engineering, Service Organization and Education team on the vCloud platform to provide them the needed support to keep the platform high available.
  • Lead Operations technical admins for Incident, change, and Problem resolutions.
  • Responsible to create and review product documentation and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain system documentation uptodate.
  • Maintain the backlogs and current work items in Azure DevOps for your innovations.
  • Applies all QA Procedures as assigned

Qualifications:

Degree in computer science or equivalent desirable.

  • VMware VCP 7 certification.
  • Mware vCloud certifications or trainings accomplished.
  • VMware NSX certifications or trainings accomplished.
  • Knowledge on NVIDIA GPU integration at VMware.
  • NetAPP and VSAN experience.
  • Minimum 5 year's experience as Sytsem Administrator or Systems Engineering

Information Technology:

  • Sound knowledge of and professional technical experience with VMware technology and related technology. VMware vSphere and Cloud Director, NSX, Windows 2016/2019, Storage VSAN, NAS, SAN.
  • Is familiar with powerCLI and other scripting languages.
  • Additional it would be a benefit to have base knowledge on VMware vRealize Suite and Multicloud technologies.
  • Knowledge of ITIL or hold the ITIL Foundation certificate.
