In Nationale-Nederlanden, multinational in the insurance industry, we seek to complete our workforce with an experienced Data Architect to support our IT team.

As a Data Architect, your main objectives will be:
  • Build an inventory of data needed to implement the architecture
  • Research new opportunities for data acquisition.
  • Educate squad members and technical leads through training and individual support.
  • Identify and evaluate current data management technologies and processes.

Defining the policies & standards for data management for structured, semi
and unstructured data use. Defining the data architecture for cloud native data management with expert level knowledge on business process flows to support data sourcing & lineage Defining the data architecture for cloud native data management with focus to Data Definitions & Metadata. Defining the data management vision & strategies, managing the change journey and/or playing serving as the "architect" to design and scale end to end data management with special focus to. Compliance & security policies for data access, use & integration.


Responsibilities:

Integrate technical functionality (e.g. scalability, security, performance, data recovery, reliability, etc.). Implement measures to ensure data accuracy and accessibility Constantly monitor, refine and report on the performance of data management systems. Produce and enforce database development standards and data standards Maintain a corporate repository of all data architecture artifacts and procedures. Assess database implementation procedures to ensure they comply with internal and external regulations. Recommend solutions to improve new and existing database systems. To assist for reach the next level of maturity on data types processing and AI adoption. Deep knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Database, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse, Azure Analysis Services, Power BI; Desirable knowledge of Spark, Azure Cosmos DB (or other NoSQL databases), Neo4j (or other graph databases), Azure Event Hubs (or other streaming platforms like Kafka) CI/CD through Azure DevOps and Visual Studio. Excellent organizational and analytical abilities. Good written and verbal communication skills. Insurance knowledge or participation in Projects for the Financial Industry will be valued.


Required Skills:

Data Layers (e.g. raw, curated). Integration design (e.g. APIs), ETL (Extract, Transform & Load), velocity (e.g. streaming). Data Modelling methodologies & tools (PowerDesigner, Sparx...). Reference Architectures and Data architecture design patterns. ArchiMate + UML. Data virtualization. Reference Data Management. Master Data Management (core & critical business data entities). Data Lineage. Data Quality Rules & KPIs. Automated Data Cleansing (e.g. use of AI / ML). Compliance Rules & KPIs. Data democratization. Data security. DMBOK or NN Data governance framework (if will be). GDPR (or other compliance related regulations). Strong knowledge of database structure systems unstructured data and data mining. Knowledge about popular Cloud platforms (e.g. Azure, AWS, GCP). Insurance Knowledge will be valued.
