The Global Warehouse & Logistics department has a vacancy in its Barcelona team for the following position:
Warehousing & Logistics Manager
The Position


As a Warehousing & Logistics Manager (M/F/d) you will be forming part of the Global WH&L department reporting directly to the Global Director WH&L.

You will be responsible for the leadership of the logistics assets within the site, and manages the activities of storage of goods, movement of material, and order fulfilling and shipping to destination, maintaining service levels to internal and external customers ensuring compliance to Quality and GDP standards.

The main activities and responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all relevant on and offsite logistic flows: inbound, storage and outbound, for both finished goods and site raw materials.
  • Manage the operations of physical distribution by selected transport methods incl. documentation and alignment with the forwarders, ensuring timely dispatch and arrival of orders.
  • Track KPIs to monitor team performance; continuously drive for improvement and coursecorrect when needed.
  • Contribute to dispatch tracker overview for Delft site in coordination with OTC team (order desk and Sales support).
  • Provide expert advice on warehousing and logistic support to internal stakeholders and decision makers.
  • Own warehousing and logistic costs and capacity overview and provide input to budgeting, planning and cost controlling.
  • Identify and implement improvement projects in terms of processes, service and cost related to warehousing and logistics.
  • Comply to the company, SHE&Q and security regulations; signal unsafe situations, (near) incidents, environmental, quality and security risks; stop proceedings when serious violations of the regulations occur and report these. Address others to comply with the regulations to prevent unsafe behaviour.
  • Think through & develop proposals to optimize logistics & warehousing operation and footprint.
  • Maintain appropriate standards with regard to GDP, SHE and quality, support onsite audits where needed.
  • Maintain relationship and account management with key external partners: logistics providers, external warehouse operators, etc.
  • Ensure IT systems are well maintained: correct master data, all functionalities used
  • Build, coach and develop a strong team of talented individuals.
  • Adequately address complaints within agreed timeframes, either from customers or colleagues, and swiftly address root cause.
  • Propose and maintain policies (SOPs) for distribution (warehousing, transportation, packaging, leadtimes) considering the legislation in force.

Requirements:


  • Required Education Level in: Economics, Business Administration, Engineering or similar degree/ certificate.
  • Minimum of 5 years in managing logistics and warehouse facilities, optimization and coordination full materials management cycle, control of the quality, quantity, stock levels and delivery times to customers.
  • Fluent proficiency in English language.
  • Strong commercial skills.
  • Great communication skills in multicultural business environment.
  • Problemsolving attitude and proactivity.
  • Planning skills and understanding of key processes.
