Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning was established on October 1st, 2015 as a joint venture between Hitachi Appliances, Inc. (now Hitachi Global Life Solutions, Inc.) and Johnson Controls, Inc. Hitachi Appliances carved out and contributed its air conditioning business to the Joint Venture. Johnson Controls acquired a 60% stake of the carved-out business and Hitachi Global Life Solutions, Inc. continues as a 40% shareholder of this venture.


With this joint venture, two rich, 100-year-old cultures and histories have come together to create one exciting new company, serving our combined customers with the most diverse product portfolio in the air conditioning industry.

For our Vacarisses Plant, in Barcelona, we are looking for a:

Quality Manufacturing Engineer

What you will do


The Quality department covers a wide range of activities within the company and is looking for a Project Engineer to continue your career in the field of Manufacturing Quality.


You will define, monitor and approve systems and procedures to ensure that technical standards are met and create quality and safety documentation.

You will be responsible for identifying technical problems and also for getting to the root cause of the problem. In addition to proactively recommending solutions that improve durability and overall product performance.


How you will do it
Integrated in the work team of the Quality department; responsible for the continuous improvement of the manufactured products:

  • Determine the quality improvement parameters by identifying the relevant control points and statistical methods for the manufacturing processes.
  • Establish continuous improvement project using six sigma methodology within a lean manufacturing environment.
  • Lead team in problem solving using 8D methodology.
  • Customer service contact coordinator and factory team.
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analysing and summarising data and formulating recommendations.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking stateoftheart practices, participating in professional societies and maintaining the Certified Quality Engineer qualification.
  • Contribute to the team effort by achieving related results as required.
  • Ensuring that products meet company and industry quality standards.
  • Responsibility for monitoring and reporting on objectives identified by current and strategic management.

What we are looking for

  • Degree in engineering or similar
  • High level of English.
  • Previous experience in coordinating and carrying out internal process/product audits is an asset.
  • Previous experience in drawing up inspection and work instructions is an asset.
  • Green belt accreditation is an asset.
  • Availability to travel sporadically.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in a similar position.
