Mission:
The Data Scientist Lead will be responsible for setting the strategic direction for the data science function and ensuring that it aligns with the overall business goals and objectives.
He/she will work closely with senior leaders across the organization to identify opportunities to leverage data-driven insights and drive business growth.
Tasks & Responsabilities:
- Define and execute the strategic vision for the data science function, including the development of Artificial Intelligence / Advanced Analytical models and algorithms, the integration of data science insights into business decisions, and the optimization of datadriven processes and workflows.
- Lead a team of data scientists and oversee the development of datadriven models, algorithms, and tools that drive business insights and improve decisionmaking. As the team is small, it is a hands on role, needing to code.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to identify and prioritize highimpact business problems and develop solutions using datadriven approaches.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders across the organization and communicate complex data science insights in a clear and actionable way.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the company's data architecture, data sources, and analytical tools to ensure highquality data inputs and outputs.
- Define and track key performance metrics related to data science projects and ensure they align with business goals and objectives.
- Stay uptodate with the latest trends and best practices in data science and bring new ideas and approaches to the team.
- Coach and mentor junior team members and foster a culture of continuous learning and development.
Education:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
Specific Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of data science concepts, tools, and techniques, including machine learning, statistical modeling, data mining, and data visualization.
- Experience working with large and complex datasets and extracting insights from unstructured data.
- Strong programming skills in Python or R, with experience in SQL and other data manipulation languages.
- Proven track record of delivering highimpact datadriven solutions in a fastpaced environment.
- Fluent in Spanish & English, both oral and written.
Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in data science or a related field, with at least 4 years of experience leading a data science team, coaching and mentoring junior team members.
- Practical experience with the Big Data Analytics landscape and related tools. Previous experience running analytics on cloud platforms (Azure is an advantage).
- Experience working abroad and with international teams (preferred)
