Job Description:

We are looking for great people to join our team of energy analysts/consultants.


We are currently recruiting for our Madrid team, but we have regular opportunities in our other offices Bangkok, Beijing, Berlin, Dubai, Dusseldorf, Helsinki, London, Oxford, Milan, New York, Oslo, Paris, Stockholm, Vienna and Zurich.

Our team specializes in all aspects of the energy transition. We offer strategic and commercial advice, develop policy and regulations, model systems and markets and support transactions. We pride ourselves on our in-depth analysis and strong client relationships.


Often the work is office based but there are many opportunities to travel for shorter trips for client meetings or for entire projects where work is on the client site.

You will join over 500 experts with a presence across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the Americas who regularly collaborate across offices to deliver projects.

For individuals looking for international experience we can also offer secondments to other offices.


As a primary responsibility, you will support AFRY consulting activities for a wide range of clients - including major financial investors, the largest Iberian and international utilities, government and regulatory bodies - through projects carried out mainly in Spain, Portugal and Latin America.


Qualifications:

main skills that we look for in our analysts/consultants:


  • Advanced analytical and quantitative skills. We undertake a lot of complex analysis, a good proportion of which is numerical, so we are looking for people with an aptitude for complex quantitative and qualitative analysis, statistics, manipulation of large data and diverse mathematical models. This includes the ability to pay attention to detail and use MS Excel proficiently, understanding programming logic, and creative problem-solving skills.

Excellent team working and social skills. Virtually all the work we do requires team working so if you have good communication skills and the ability to work well with others within a project team and wider office environment you will fit in well. This involves organization discipline, flexibility, and respecting commitments.

Being fluent in Spanish and English. On the one hand our clients are located in Spanish and non
  • Spanish speaking countries, and on the other hand our work requires day to day collaboration in English with other AFRY offices.

Writing and communication skills. Report-writing and presenting in public is a core part of our work, therefore we are also looking for the ability to explain complex information in a clear and logical way in English, both in writing and orally.

Proactivity and responsibility. You will be working in a commercial environment against budgets and deadlines so you will need to be able to think for yourself, be proactive and have a business-oriented mindset.

Passion for energy markets and policies. You have an understanding of European electricity or gas market dynamics, sustainability challenges, and energy policies.

Knowledge of energy market dynamics in Iberia and/or South American countries. These are the markets we cover from our Madrid office.

Programming skills. Knowledge on programming languages (e.g. Visual Basic, GAMS, Mosel, Python) will be highly valued.
