It houses MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe, and is a hosting member of the PRACE European distributed supercomputing infrastructure. The mission of BSC is to research, develop and manage information technologies in order to facilitate scientific progress. BSC combines HPC service provision and R&D into both computer and computational science (life, earth and engineering sciences) under one roof, and currently has over 770 staff from 55 countries.

    Context And Mission
  • Reporting HR & Labour Relations Coordinator, the HR Mobility & Onboarding Officer will ensure the proper management of the foreign affairs issues (work permits) and will design and implement the best practices in the onboarding of new staff.
    Key Duties
  • Foreign affairs management:
  • Manage the work permits for new staff and their family o Manage renewals of work permits o Be the key person in mobility affairs at BSC o Analyse data and implement improvements in the current procedures o Monthly reporting of this area
  • Onboarding:
  • Maintain the information for the induction processes o Introduce through presentations BSC to new staff o Support newcomers in key aspects when arriving in Barcelona: Housing, Taxes, Banks, schools, etco Manage and support social activities for newcomers and current BSC staff, within the HR team o Maintain the database and report KPI's of this area
  • Personnel administration:
  • Support in the preparation of new contracts o Explain contracts and BSC procedures to new employees o Support answering HR tickets
  • Other:
  • Administrative support to the HR team in Gender and Diversity activities o Support in the HRS4R initiative
    Requirements:
  • Education
  • University Degree (Social Sciences, Labour Relations, Psychology, or similar)
  • Master Degree in Human Resources or postgraduate degree will be a plus
  • Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
  • Experience in an international environment will be valued
  • Experience in an international research centre will be valued
  • Experience in a role that had to be in contact with employees or clients
  • Competences
  • Excellent verbal and written communication (Spanish and English), other European languages will be valued
  • Strong skills in Microsoft office. (Excellent in Excel)

  • Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced, high volume, deadlinedriven environment

Conditions

  • The position will be located at BSC within the Management Department
  • We offer a fulltime contract, a good working environment, a highly stimulating environment with stateoftheart infrastructure, flexible working hours, extensive training plan, tickets restaurant, private health insurance, fully support to the relocation procedures
  • Duration: Openended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project and budget duration
  • Starting date: ASAP
