This is a network role (Individual contributor) in a cross cultural team located in various parts of the world.

The team is responsible to maintain the fine balance between cost and service with an oversight on freight forwarding partners.

The role is expected to play change ambassador role in various strategic initiatives.


Role and responsibilities:

  • Lead IMEX (Operational excellence) initiatives and represent Logistics Delivery Operations (LDO) team in Tier 3 (management level) Process Centric Team (daily whiteboards) own actions, drive resolutions and escalate where necessary.
  • Represent Pfizer in EMEA regional industry forums concerning pharmaceutical and healthcare logistics.
  • Drive direct engagement with Airlines and Ocean liners (where required) and bring in meaningful insights to drive strategic projects.
  • Ensure that standard work is documented, followed and current version is maintained.
  • Operationally support the site transportation management of the sites under his/her responsibility.
  • Own and lead Tier 3 Continuous improvement initiatives (Change Ambassador).
  • Role has direct responsibility for Control Tower operational support of in transit incidents, and intervention. This includes nonstandard business hour support as required (weekend oncall system for specific weekends).
  • Real time shipment intervention and ensuring follow up actions with transportation suppliers are actioned against predefined playbooks and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Own the transportation budget (and Budget Vs Actuals) of the sites under his/her responsibility.
  • Monitor shipping sites performance, adherence to logistics delivery processes, standards and compliance.
  • Manage external logistics providers' Control Towers to ensure required objectives/outcomes are achieved.
  • Understand and communicate to all stakeholders' future service and cost impacts resulting from changes in market conditions, network changes, product volume / mix changes, mode changes, etc.
  • Leverage Logistics Platform Solutions tools capabilities related to financial management, operations KPI's, planning and optimization, and visibility processes.
  • This is an individual contributor role.
Your skills

  • Education: Master or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (Management), Supply Chain or Logistics or any appropriate work experience is required.
  • Experience: 5 years Pharmaceutical and/or highvolume Consumer Goods industry experience or experience with a global logistics services provider.


  • Strong analytical skills

  • Ability to work with a lot of variables and data and synthesize to drive management decision making.
  • Project Management experience/skills, change management skills, Vendor management skills, People skills to work cross functionally.
  • Good computer literacy (MS office, Transportation Management / Optimization Tools, SAP MM/SD modules, etc.).
  • Ability to handle situations of high pressure (critical shipments) and quick decision making.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as in teams, including leading multifunctional and geographically dispersed project teams.
  • Languages: English (Business Proficient). Other European language skills are nice to have.
