Job Description:


The Microchip HR teams are responsible for performing HR related administrative and recruitment duties on a professional level, while working closely with the managers to provide the best possible support to the company's' employees.

The team carry out responsibilities within the full recruitment and employee life cycle.


This position will be based at Microchip's office in Spain (Zaragoza Site) or Italy (Milan site) and will be the main contact regarding HR activities across our Spain & Italy offices.

What will you do in this position

Reporting to the European HR Director you will be part of the European HR team.

As HR Manager, you will support the employees and managers on all core HR activities including recruitment, induction, reward, learning & development, health and wellbeing, performance management and employee relations.

In this position you will partner with the leadership team to identify organisational needs and lead local efforts to ensure effective deployment around all site-specific HR practices in line with business needs.


Key job responsibilities/duties include:

  • Ensure all policies and practices are compliant with legal requirement and corporate guidelines and where appropriate published on our SharePoint site.
  • Coach managers providing timely and constructive feedback to help them improve their leadership effectiveness.
  • Organise and attend career fairs and other such events for hiring new college graduates and promote the profile of the company to develop our reputation as an employer of choice
  • Responsibility for issuing all new hire documentation, ensuring employee contracts for each region are updated and compliant with the prevailing Italian legislation.
  • In collaboration with the European Compensation and Benefits Manager, provide guidance on the positioning of offers in line with Company reward strategy, and market data.
  • Administration of benefits for employees, research market conditions and in collaboration with the European Compensation and Benefits Manager, negotiate renewal of schemes.
  • In collaboration with the European Compensation and Benefits Manager, ensure the timely submission of payroll data for the processing of monthly payroll.
  • Ensures the Company meets it statutory health and safety obligations and implements sound health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Any other project work as required by the European HR Director.

Requirements/Qualifications:
Qualifications and Experience Strong knowledge of Spanish employment legislation with excellent commercial business acumen. Knowledge of Italian legislation would be advantageous.- Fluency in Spanish and English language required. Fluency in Italian would be advantageous.


Competencies- Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time is needed to ensure the delivery of excellent services.- Strong self-organisation and the ability to work on your own initiative.- Strong IT literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office packages (knowledge of Workday is highly desirable).- Excellent communicator, including presenting to groups on occasion.- Confident, positive attitude and be motivated by the role.- A high level of professionalism and integrity and operates to the highest ethical standards- Willingness to travel when necessary.
