Descripción:


  • As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team, you will be responsible for all aspects of stage engineering design, development, support production, integrated test, combined test and qualification for MIURA 5 first stage.

Responsabilidades:


  • Design, build and test MIURA 5 launch vehicle first stage systems and components.
  • Owner and support provider for development of critical stage components, both inhouse and outsourced.
  • Participate in design and analysis for stage development.
  • Participate in and assume engineering commitments for the stage.
  • Participate and lead CONOPS development and implementation.
  • Participate in testing activities, reviews and provide operational specifications for stage development.
  • Participate in subsystem test readiness reviews including engine data review, structures data review, avionics data review, flight completion data review.
  • Participate in integrated stage test reviews and acceptance test reviews.
  • Participate in flight readiness review and post flight data review.
  • Develop documentation for subsystem engineering, including test plans, test procedures, and formal reviews for launch authorities.
  • Responsible for reporting overall program status and critical items to program management, executive managers and subsystem department for alignment.
  • Ensure detailed mechanical analysis of all vehicle subsystem components/systems are performed, reviewed and meet required standards for life and reliability objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with stage requirements and subsystem requirements.
  • Evaluate nonconforming product conditions by analyzing, developing and providing written provisions for development, production, test and postproduction discrepancies taking into account design, safety, quality, cost and schedule requirements.
  • Coordinate and maintain relationships with suppliers.
  • Write, review and update work instructions for assembly, handling and inspection of turbopump assemblies.
  • Identify design and/or process modifications to improve performance, reliability, manufacturability and assembly.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Conocimientos requeridos:


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • 5 years of experience in the design of turbomachinery components, first stage engines or relevant/equivalent stage hardware.

Competencias requeridas:


  • Fluency in English is a mandatory.
  • Experience with commercial analysis software (structural and fluid).
  • Experience with high speed data acquisition and instrumentation using accelerometers and pressure/temperature sensors.
  • Review and maintain engineering documentation, including engineering models and model drawings of asdesigned, asbuilt and astested subsystem configurations.
  • Experience in postprocessing data to evaluate the health, performance and associated phenomena of stage subsystems.
  • Sourcing suppliers of platform components such as valves, COPVs, sensors, actuators, tubing and piping.
  • Experience in one or more of the following
  • Mechanical design of launch vehicle subsystems
  • Testing with high speed data acquisition.
  • Engine design
  • Structures design
  • Avionics design
  • Implementation of CONOPS.
  • Implementation of test plans and procedures.
  • Manufacture / producibility of launch vehicle hardware.
  • Experience with cryogenic fluids and high pressure gas lines.

Competencias deseadas:


  • Specific knowledge of the space sector, space vehicles and launchers, metal pressure vessels, COPVs and payload structures is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD programs (preferably NX).
  • Knowledge in FEA analysis tools (ANSYS preferably).
  • Knowledge in CFD analysis and network flow codes.
  • Be a multitasker with a strong sense of responsibility, integrity and team approach.
  • Passionate and creative problem solver who thrives in a fastpaced environment.
