Accountabilities:

Thought Leadership: Proactively be ahead of the technology curve and provide thought leadership on new and emerging technologies. You enable prediction of the impacts to the healthcare/life-sciences sector, across different verticals. Assess existing capabilities within AstraZeneca and work with strategic leaders, Business Technology Groups (BTGs) and Enterprise Architects, to translate innovative ideas into actionable strategies for leadership.

Research and Communication: Conduct comprehensive research on technologies impacting the business and pharmaceutical value chain and synthesise findings into compelling reports and presentations that educate and drive strategic action among senior leaders. You'll be operating as an internal consultancy with expertise in new and emerging technologies.

Guide New Technologies: Lead the charge for new and emerging technologies, ensuring alignment with governance, and adherence to innovation processes to keep AstraZeneca at the forefront of the industry.

Trend Analysis and Strategic Influence: Proactively supervise and analyse technological trends, offering domain expertise that advises strategic planning and decision-making, and encourages investment in areas with the most potential for pioneering innovation.

Partnership Engagement: Harness the power of networking to forge impactful collaborations. Engage with external partners to address AstraZeneca's future challenges.

Knowledge Stewardship: Run and curate a shared knowledge repository, ensuring high-quality content that serves as a valuable resource for global technology insights and learning within AstraZeneca.

Strategic Storytelling: Outstanding storytelling skills are essential for effectively translating sophisticated technical concepts and transformative ideas into simple, impactful narratives that resonate with senior executives. You know what good looks like and can either create or direct others to build glossy material that can challenge with what would be produced by an external consultancy.

Agility in Ambiguity: The ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritise a demanding workload, and thrive in a dynamic environment.

Innovation Passion: A fervent desire to stay informed about the latest trends and developments in the innovation landscape. A genuine eagerness to engage directly with technologies, coupled with the drive and ability to rapidly learn new skills.

The capacity to articulate intricate technical details in a clear manner that is easily understandable by senior strategic leaders as well as your colleagues in teams like Enterprise Architecture. Emerging tech trend analysis:Understanding of trends in key new technologies for a healthcare company. You may have some experience from a Consulting, Advisory or Professional services background, but passionate about using your experience to tailor insights to senior audiences.

Networking and Partnering: Experienced at creation new cross functional networks for curating materials and sharing of valuable insights

Emerging technology exposure:Awareness of areas such as data science, real-time 3D, AR/VR/XR, computer vision, AI, robotics, quantum computing, etc.

Tech Industry Acument: Knowledge of big/small tech business landscape, start-ups, VCs, and academia is desirable.

Project Experience: Experience of independent project development as well as collaborative team efforts, with a good understanding of source control and project management methodologies.
