ESSP, a private company with 7 major European Air Navigation Service Providers as shareholders, manages the operation and supports the adoption of the European Satellite Based Augmentation System to


GPS:
_EGNOS_.


The adoption of this service is rapidly growing given it allows correcting the GPS signal and offers enhanced features with accurate positioning and integrity within safety-of-life services context such as public transportation.


ESSP recruits a:

CNS SERVICE ENGINEER - (F/M)
If you have proficiency in
Communication Navigation Surveillance (CNS) and have at least
3 years of experience in aeronautical communications focus in data link, then this position is for you


By joining us, you will provide ESSP technical support activities focused on Service Provision in the on-going projects based in Satellite Communication and activities linked to CNS (Communication Navigation Surveillance) Services.


Your main responsibilities/activities will be:


  • Technical support in activities & deliveries related to CNS Services projects, mainly to contribute to:
  • Technical architecture definition;
  • Service modelling & concept of operations based on applicable regulation and standards;
  • Technical studies & assessments of technologies (_SATCOM/IRIS European Space Agency programme, VHF Datalink Mode 2 (VDLm2)_), state of the art for CNS;
  • Service provision requirements definition & preoperational service validation test campaign.
  • Participation in technical meetings related to CNS projects;
  • Participation/Contribution to international fora related to CNS (i

e:
Eurocontrol, SESAR,etc.);

  • Reporting for CNS projects highlighting the current status of activities and next improvements;
  • Technical contribution in the preparation of potential tenders related to CNS areas.

  • Relevant knowledge in CNS/ATM technologies, especially focused on datalink technologies (

ACARS:
Aircraft Communication Addressing and Reporting System, VDL Mode 2, SatCom, Aeronautical Telecommunication Network such as ATN/OSI, ATN IPS)

  • Knowledge of European regulation (ex: Single European Sky regulations, European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) regulation) as well as applicable standards (ICAO, EUROCAE, RTCA, ARINC )

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Language: English (B2)
  • CEFR and Spanish (desirable)

Engineering degree or equivalent:


  • Experience in
    international and multistakeholder projects (EC, SESAR, CINEA, ESA Program among others)
  • Availability for
    regular travels, especially
    in Europe
