Developing an attractive research agenda in the field of electrochemical CO2 reduction.

Acquisition of competitive funding, both private and public, e.g. PhD students and postdocs.
Successful collaboration with universities, research institutes and companies at national and international level
Successful mentoring of PhD, postdoc and master students, i.e. fulfilling their own requirements
Writing articles as first authors (e.g. 1 paper per year) in highimpact journals
Project management and project administration (internal and external), also for the department and CIIAE.

The challenge of this position is to increase the efficiency, reduce the cost, improve the lifetime and reduce the environmental impact of green and synthetic fuels through electrochemical conversion.

Requisitos

PhD in one of the following disciplines: materials science, electrochemistry, chemistry, chemical engineering or similar.
At least 2 years of postdoctoral experience.
Proven experience in acquiring and/or writing competitive project proposals, e.g. consortium projects and/or fellowships.
Proven experience in supervising PhD and/or MSc students (e.g. as a daytoday supervisor).
Excellent knowledge of electrocatalyst synthesis (solid phase).
Experience in diffraction, microscopic and spectroscopic characterisation techniques for structural and microstructural characterisation, such as Xray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), energy dispersive analysis (EDS), Xray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS).
Demonstrated experience with some fabrication and testing of polymer membrane electrochemical cells (PEMFC, PEM electrolysers, alkaline), e.g. classical electrochemical methods such as polarisation curves, potentiostatic/galvanostatic methods, impedance spectroscopy, measurements using rotating disk electrodes, catalyst degradation and stability studies, among others.
Demonstrated participation in at least 3 R&D projects.
Ability to lead a team towards the achievement of the objectives set, as well as in the acquisition of funding.
Commitment to open science in terms of research methods, data and publications.
Proven experience with industrial collaborations and/or previous experience working in industry
Experience in collaborating with other colleagues from the same department, centre, and other institutions
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
At least 10 publications in Scopusindexed journals

¿Qué ofrecemos?

Contract until September 2025, but with the possibility of continuing to be part of the centre in the long term.

Own agreement with the company hosting the birth of the centre until CIIAE has its own agreement.
